Our partner Karin Madisson judged the final round of the Tallinn University Internal Moot Court Competition: Speed Moot 2025 on 14 April. SOGOLAS Law students put their legal knowledge and advocacy skills to the test with this year’s challenging case.

This year’s case involved a fictional dispute between two countries before the International Court of Justice, centred around marine pollution and state responsibility for environmental harm. After intense preliminary rounds, the top two teams advanced to the final round on 15 April.

High praise for Moot Court finalists and winners

“Congratulations to Laura Taklaja and Jonathan Noah Derose, the finalists, and Oskar Karelson and Iida Ollila, the winners! These young people will greatly raise the standard of the bar associations they join,” commented Karin Madisson.

Karin also extended her deepest appreciation to Harshita Mardikar and Sofiia Loienko for their expert organisation of the competition and for authoring such a challenging moot problem: “Your efforts have provided a brilliant learning opportunity for students. It was an honour to be part of this inspiring event!”
