Senior associate Artûras Asakavièius will be leading the Lithuanian delegation at the Crowd Dialog Europe 2017 conference to be held in Athens on 21 September 2017. The event, organised in partnership with the European Commission and the National Bank of Greece, will be hosting 450 selected delegates from 28 EU member states.
Stakeholders, represented by dedicated Country Patrons, will gather to discuss diverse scenarios of crowd-disruption. The conference will focus on three main areas:
- Crowdfunding. What is the status quo and taxonomy for alternative financing models in Europe? Can they fulfil the promise of a quickly growing segment, and how can growth begin to attract institutional investors?
- Crowdsourcing. How will a heterogenous group of people combined with ongoing digital transformation change the way we think about work?
- Crowd innovation. How to foster innovation involving a swarm of heterogeneous people and simultaneously engage in united collaboration?
In 2014, Sorainen was the first law firm to undertake a detailed analysis of the current complex regulation of crowdfunding in the Baltic States. The Sorainen team has also contributed to other studies, reviews and reports as well as collaborating with the Bank of Lithuania on preparing the very first draft Law on Crowdfunding.
Artûras Asakavièius is a member of the Sorainen Banking, Finance and Insurance Practice Group and co-head of the Sorainen Start-up Practice Area in Lithuania. He specializes in banking, financial services and regulation, capital market and venture capital transactions as well as insurance law matters. Artûras is well known for crowdfunding, peer-to-peer lending, payment and e-money matters in Lithuania. He is also deeply involved in developing the fintech industry and regulation in Lithuania.
