Sorainen has joined the informal European Customs Counsel Network (ECCN). The network is dedicated to sharing useful practice and know-how in the field of customs law. Practical aspects include collaborating in projects in particular cases as well as EU customs law policy, and assisting clients across countries to find a customs adviser in different jurisdictions.
The network, established in 2017 by law firm Sidley Austin LLP and representatives from several law jurisdictions, currently unites 11 members across the EU countries and Norway. All members of the network have notable experience in customs law as well as in related legal areas, such as excise, transport and litigation.
Sorainen, which covers the Lithuanian, Latvian and Estonian jurisdictions, is represented by senior associate Jonas Sakalauskas (customs & litigation). Other members appointed on behalf of Sorainen are partner Saulë Dagilytë (tax & customs) and associate Gerda Skirbutienë (excise & tax).
