We represented Universal Music Group in negotiating a recording agreement with the X Factor Latvia 2021 competition finalists. Universal Music Group is extending its partnership with the X Factor Latvia 2021 competition, offering a chance for the winner of the competition to enter into a recording agreement.
We assisted in explaining the terms and conditions of the recording agreement to the X Factor Latvia finalists, and providing a general introduction to the main copyright concepts relevant in the music and recording industry. We also participated in a question-and-answer session with the finalists. The case was interesting as it offered a chance to explore in more depth copyright and related rights rules specific to the entertainment and music industry.
