We provided legal advice to Danish Sun Energy ApS, a Danish greenfield developer, on the sale of 100% of its capital shares in DSE Aizpute Solar to Latvenergo, Latvia’s leading energy company. This acquisition will enable Latvenergo to construct a 265-MWp (megawatts DC) solar power plant by the end of 2025. This project marks a significant step forward in Latvenergo’s strategy to support Latvia’s Green Deal goals by expanding and diversifying its renewable energy generation portfolio, so advancing towards climate neutrality by 2050.

About the transaction

The acquisition of 100% of the shares in DSE Aizpute Solar by Latvenergo was completed through a merger and acquisition (M&A) transaction, by acquiring the solar project development company under construction. This will enable Latvenergo to have significant energy generation capacity at its disposal.
