Since 2004, the Foundation of the University of Latvia has provided an opportunity for patrons and cooperation partners to invest in the future of Latvia, supporting both the University of Latvia and other leading Latvian universities. The priorities of the University of Latvia Foundation are to support the most outstanding students and researchers and the projects and research they lead, to promote a modern learning environment, and to provide for the construction and renovation of university buildings.
Within the framework of this project, our office awarded a scholarship for bachelor students (starting from the second year) and master’s students at the Faculty of Law at the University of Latvia to conduct research. This year, our scholarship to support knowledge development in Germany was awarded to student Artūrs Šuspāns. Artūrs plans to attend a summer school next summer, where the programme will focus on legal theory and human rights.
The scholarship was awarded by partner Ieva Andersone, and by Elīna Lūse, head of the People and Culture team at Sorainen Latvian office.
This year, the Foundation of the University of Latvia received 460 scholarship applications. A total of 137 dedicated students received scholarships. You can find out more about the scholarship recipients and the ceremony here.
