CEE Legal Matters presented our team with the 2020 CEE Deal of the Year award for Lithuania for our work on the initial public offering (IPO) of state-owned energy company Ignitis Group.
During the largest ever IPO in the Baltic States, the group raised EUR 450 million. The company’s shares were listed on the Nasdaq Vilnius and London stock exchanges.
David Stukey, CEE Legal Matters Executive Editor, says: “This year’s award-winning deals are particularly significant for taking place against the backdrop of the (at the time rapidly expanding) COVID-19 pandemic, and many of them were arranged, at least in part, remotely, and with newly-created facilitating technology. Especially in these circumstances, the firms that played such critical roles in helping usher these deals to completion – including, of course, Sorainen for its work on the Ignitis Grupe IPO – deserve special recognition and credit. The judges who chose Ignitis Grupe IPO as the winner for Lithuania were tremendously impressed by its domestic and regional significance, its size, and its complexity. Our heartfelt congratulations go out to Sorainen. Well done!”
