We advised the international independent management organisation (IME) Soundreef S.p.A.
Soundreef operates as an IME in over 90 countries. In 2020 Soundreef joined Confédération Internationale des Sociétés d’Auteurs et Compositeurs (CISAC) as a rights management entity. The Soundreef group develops technology to monitor all music usage and collect royalties in-house.
Our involvement
Our advice covered issues related to European Union and Latvian copyright and collective management law, as well as CJEU practice and legal doctrine. It also included competition law aspects of the Latvian copyright industry. This research helped the client to develop a deeper understanding of the collective management law with regard to IME operations.
