We are advising Mehiläinen, the leading private provider of healthcare and social services in Finland, on the acquisition of occupational healthcare provider Qvalitas Arstikeskus and dental care chain Unimed Grupp.
Among the leading private healthcare providers in Estonia
With this transaction, Mehiläinen will enter the Estonian healthcare market by acquiring 100% of Unimed and Qvalitas. The new strategic owner will continue under the same brand and with the same board in both organisations. Unimed and Qvalitas are both among the leading players in the private healthcare sector in Estonia. The completion of the deal is subject to regulatory approvals.
The previous owner of Unimed and Qvalitas, largest private equity investor in the Baltic region – BaltCap, is exiting after a successful five year cooperation period. According to Martin Kõdar, Managing Partner at BaltCap, this is a natural step forward in order for both companies to develop further.
Janne-Olli Järvenpää, Mehiläinen’s CEO comments: “Both Qvalitas and Unimed are leaders in their fields in terms of revenue, quality and customer satisfaction. We have been following the development of the companies’ operations for years and have been impressed by both the competence of their experts and the ability of their management to develop the operations.’’
