Acting as local counsel in Estonia and Latvia through the Helsinki office of international law firm Bird & Bird, we are advising Patria, an international provider of defence, security and aviation life cycle support services, technology solutions and pilot training, on updating its group-wide whistleblowing guidelines and ensuring compliance with the EU Whistleblower Directive.
International market player
Patria, founded in 1921, is an international provider of defence, security and aviation life cycle support services, technology solutions and pilot training. Patria provides its aerospace and military customers with equipment availability, continuous performance development as well as selected intelligence, surveillance and management system products and services.
Our services and client team
We advised Patria on updating its group-wide whistleblowing guidelines and reporting channels in light of Estonian and Latvian law. We continue to provide the client with advice on the status of the transposition of the EU Whistleblower Directive and about local whistleblower legislation.
This matter is complicated and time-sensitive as European Union member states were required to implement the directive by 17 December 2021. However, Estonia has still not done it.
The client team includes partner Karin Madisson and assistant lawyer Hanna-Elise Rähni for Estonian law matters, and counsel Andis Burkevics for Latvian law matters.
