Laurynas Lukošiūnas, a Sorainen partner and head of our Public Procurement & Public Projects practice in the Baltics and Belarus, represented the Republic of Lithuania in a meeting at the European Commission (EC). The goal was to secure Lithuania’s position in terms of its public procurement laws. This is only the second time during the last 15 years that such a significant procedure has taken place.
Laurynas analysed and evaluated observations made by the EC as well as preparing the official position of the Republic of Lithuania. In addition, Laurynas ‒ together with representatives from the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania as well as Neringa Virbickaitė, representing Lithuania’s Central Project Management Agency ‒ led negotiations with the EC in Brussels concerning the complex public procurement questions in Lithuania.
