We advised the women’s health startup CARÁ Health in raising EUR 620 000. The investment is intended to be used for expanding and growing in international markets.

Comprehensive maternity and postpartum support for every woman

Recent studies indicate that more than 40 million women experience long-term health issues lasting months or even years after childbirth. Access to comprehensive and verified health and well-being resources throughout pregnancy is limited for expecting mothers and their families, the startup notes.

CARÁ Health aims to fill the gaps in maternity and postpartum care by providing mothers with a library of evidence-based information, curated product suggestions, targeted podcasts and masterclasses, and personalized support services, including prenatal care, postpartum support, and expert advice on specific health concerns. The investment will be used to expand and grow in the DACH region, specifically Austria, Germany, and Switzerland.

Swift Expansion into Germany

Founded in early 2022 by paediatric nurse Anna Strubel and entrepreneurs Carina and Keiro Vantsi, CARÁ Health is supported by a medical board including family physician Dr. Anna Melan and gynaecologist Dr. Liina Rajasalu. The company has a team of 10 employees and 30 maternity and women’s health specialists. According to the company, every second pregnant woman in Estonia uses the CARÁ Health app, and they have supported 1,000 pregnancies in their home country.

CARÁ Health also has physical counselling centres in Tartu and Tallinn, offering a wide range of women’s health services, including gynaecology, nutritionist counselling, pregnancy yoga, midwife and doula services, and much more. In April of this year, the startup began its international expansion by opening a centre in Berlin. The demand has been so high that the company decided to accelerate its plans for expanding in the German market.
