We represented our client, an international car maker, during trademark opposition proceedings, rebutting the opposition filed by another car maker before the Latvian Patent Office (the Appellate Board). The opposition was based on the other car maker’s earlier trademark, “VITO”, and was filed against our client’s trademark registration, “AITO”. We represented our client by drafting and submitting an explanation regarding the opposition submission submitted by the opponent.
Throughout the opposition proceedings, we closely monitored the case and engaged in the submission of additional arguments and evidence on behalf of our client. We also prepared a response to the opponent’s submission of additional evidence.
The Appellate Board fully rejected the opponent’s submission. The decision has entered into force and cannot be appealed.
Our team consisted of partner Ieva Andersone, counsel Linda Sarāne-Reneslāce, and assistant lawyers Krišjānis Knodze and Kristīne Ilga Budkēviča.
