Yesterday, the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania ruled in favour of our client UAB Mezon in a dispute over the transfer of frequencies together with the acquired Mezon business.

In 2020, after Bitė Grup company UAB Mezon acquired the business operating under Mezon brand from LRTC (deal value – EUR 30 million), Telia appealed against the authorization for the transfer of frequencies together with the business granted by the Communications Regulatory Authority. After almost two years of litigation, the court made a final and non-appealable decision, rejecting Telia’s complaint as completely unfounded.

Comments Rokas Simutis, CEO of UAB Mezon: “We are glad that the case which lasted for almost two years is finally closed. Court’s decision is in favour of all internet users in Lithuania, who will have even more alternatives when choosing an internet provider. By acquiring Mezon, Bitė Group sought to compete more actively, first of all, in the fixed internet market. Today’s court decision establishes that there are more options to choose from.”
