On 15 September 2022, Utilitas inaugurated the largest onshore wind park in Latvia, with a capacity of 58.8 MW. The opening of this park nearly doubled the total wind power infrastructure installed in Latvia.
The wind park is located in Tārgale, Ventspils district, Latvia. Total investment in the development of the wind park amounted to ca. EUR 70 million. In total 14 turbines were erected (manufacturer: Vestas) with a tip height of 152 metres.
The Tārgale Wind Park will generate 155 GWh of electricity per year, enough to power more than 50,000 households. As per tradition, upon inaugurating the wind park, Utilitas planted an apple tree near the project. You can read more about the Tārgale Wind Park here: https://targalewindpark.com/
Our assistance and team
We were honoured to assist the developer of the project in relation to development matters (preparation and negotiations of agreements with land owners, construction, and wind turbine supply and installation agreements (based on FIDIC forms), as well as operation and maintenance agreement for the wind park). Our team consisted of partners Jorens Jaunozols and Lelde Laviņa.
