At its 2017 “European Women in Business Law Awards” ceremony on 15 June, Euromoney Legal Media Group recognised Sorainen as the Best in the Baltics.
The European Women in Business Law Awards recognize and celebrate companies with the best initiatives for gender diversity, innovations, minority women, mentoring, work-life balance, pro bono work and talent management, as well as recognizing distinguished women lawyers in business law.
Says Eva Berlaus, office managing partner of Sorainen Latvia and a member of the firm’s management group, “We are very proud that Sorainen was honoured with the title of ‘the Best in the Baltics’. This recognition showcases the success of our great efforts enabling women to pursue their legal careers and making our firm a flexible environment not only for female leaders but for all employees and their families.”
Sorainen stands out among Baltic law firms for its commitment to diversity. More than 20% of its partners, half of its senior and managing lawyers and almost an absolute majority of business services managers are women at both regional and local level.
During recent years the firm has paid great attention to female diversity in partnership. Last year the firm promoted Saulë Dagilytë, head of Tax & Customs at the Sorainen Lithuanian office, followed in January by Lelde Laviòa, team leader of the Sorainen Latvia Real Estate & Construction Team, with both women becoming partners in the firm.
The Euromoney Legal Media Group comprises a wide range of legal publications including the International Financial Law Review (IFLR), Managing Intellectual Property, the IFLR1000, the International Tax Review, and the Expert Guides.
