Energy Club Latvia: Legal aspects of wind park development and investor’s view

We invite you to join our webinar at 10:00 on 7 June, the opening event of the Energy Club – a platform to bring together energy sector specialists and companies wishing to develop energy efficiency, ensure energy security and be informed about different issues in the sector. Sorainen Latvia Energy Club has been created to bring together peers from the energy industry, including renewable energy producers and investors, electricity supply chain participants, and oil and gas industry businesses, as well as industrialists, and construction and technology companies related to the sector.

Our first webinar aims to provide practical insight into current questions significant for wind energy project developers. Learn how to become more attractive in the eyes of investors and what the principal factors they evaluate are.

For the opening session of the Energy Club we have invited as guest speaker an experienced energy market professional, Erika Ščiogoleva, head of Ignitis Renewables Latvia. Erika will share her insights into investors’ views of wind park projects: what the most significant things are for investors and what mistakes developers can make during the process that may affect the interests of the investor.

Sorainen senior associate Andris Vilisons will share a legal overview of the zoning requirements: how developers can feel safe about zoning requirements for the development of wind parks, what the legal solution is in case site planning contradicts Cabinet Rules, and what guarantees developers may receive regarding whether or not detailed planning development is required.

Viktorija Cherkas, head of Sorainen’s Energy sector group, will speak about the latest amendments to legal regulation, which will have a direct impact on wind park development – what to be aware of, and which requirements allow simplification of wind park development and according to what conditions.
