Sorainen represented Lytagra in a dispute regarding an inspection report prepared by Kaunas Territorial Customs office and revoking the decision of the Customs Department.
The Lithuanian Supreme Administrative Court annulled a Court of First Instance and Customs Department ruling according to which Lytagra had to pay more than EUR 570 000 in definitive anti-dumping duties, taxes, fines and interest. The customs authorities will have to reinvestigate the case.
Five Judges of the Lithuanian Supreme Administrative Court provided interpretations on proving country of origin, validity of certificates of origin, and recovery of import duties more than three years from the date when the customs debt was incurred.
Sorainen represented the client throughout the whole litigation process. The Sorainen team was led by senior associate Jonas Sakalauskas.
