About me
As an attorney-at-law and counsel with the firm’s Dispute Resolution & Risk Management team, my primary focus is on advising and representing local and international clients in complex domestic and international arbitration proceedings under the auspices of leading arbitration institutions (SCC, ICC, LCIA), as well as in court proceedings.
Professional highlights
Wide-ranging experience in disputes. I have considerable experience successfully advising local and international clients in a wide range of complex and high-stake disputes in both court and arbitration proceedings, as well as negotiations and the pre-trial stage.
I act for clients with a broad geographic scope throughout Europe and beyond in arbitrations across various sectors, including the energy, construction and real estate, commercial sectors. I am experienced in representing clients in arbitrations conducted under the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules, the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) and the Vilnius Court of Commercial Arbitration Rules (VCCA).
Landmark cases. One of the most significant projects I have been involved in is a dispute where we have successfully represented Lithuanian and foreign clients against one of the largest retail chains in Lithuania. The disputed value amounted to almost EUR 300 million.
I have also successfully represented our client, one of the largest real estate investment groups in Europe, in arbitration proceedings before the Arbitration Institute of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) against a former contractor for one of the largest business centres in Lithuania. The case was unique in that this complex construction dispute was on a large scale and related to in-depth construction and contract interpretation in the context of the formerly contractual relationship.
I have successfully represented our client, a company in Lithuania owned by the U.S. W. P. Carey investment fund, in a series of legal disputes against Kesko Senukai Lithuania concerning the proper performance of the Rent Agreements.
Expert in the arbitration field. I am on the list of arbitrators at the Vilnius Court of Commercial Arbitration (VCCA), the best-known and most reputable arbitration institution in Lithuania and among the Baltic States. Therefore, I gained experience in the arbitration field internally while working at the VCCA and externally while representing international and national clients in arbitration proceedings. My interest and passion for arbitration started in my early years of university and are still alive.
I have also been appointed as a member of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR (appointed by the Lithuanian national committee for the term 2022-2024). Also, I am a member of the Lithuanian Bar Association Arbitration Committee.
Academic works. In addition to my practice, I am a lecturer on Obligation and Contract Law, Business Transactions at Vilnius University Faculty of Law.
