Professional highlights

Broad knowledge. In addition to law, I have knowledge of tax management, EU institutions and the implementation of EU law. I have also completed the Sorainen Student Academy programme.

Experience in the public sector. In my journey through the public sector, I’ve developed a passion for human-centered legislative practices and safeguarding fundamental rights. During the public sector innovation programme at the Estonian Government Office, I learned more about how to make public services more user-friendly and human-centred (including legislation). I have applied the invaluable service design experience to my legislative work. I have previously worked at the Ministry of Rural Affairs, especially in the implementation of EU state aid law and various subsidies. Engaging actively in the formulation of numerous sectoral laws and implementing acts, I refined my expertise in these domains.

Expert in EU state aid law. I have advised various public authorities on the implementation of EU state aid law, especially in relation to granting subsidies. I have represented Estonia in the European Commission’s state aid working groups during the development of sectoral legislation. In cooperation with the Ministry of Finance, I have conducted state aid trainings for various institutions. As a state aid expert at TAIEX (Technical Assistance and Information Exchange), I have also given lectures to Croatian institutions to help them adopt state aid issues upon joining the EU. I also participate in the state aid cases advised on by Sorainen.
