About me

I started at Sorainen in 1997 and have been privileged to help develop a five-lawyer team into a distinguished law firm operating across the Baltics. I have worked in many areas of law, but my main focus has always been on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), private equity, and, more recently, startups and the technology sectors. My passion is in negotiations. I have continuously improved my skills abroad and teach negotiations at the Estonian Bar Association and Sorainen. I am the head of the firm’s Corporate and M&A practice group. Additionally, I am also heading the Startups sector group in the Baltics. I am also responsible for the Private Equity and Venture Capital sector groups in Estonia.

Professional highlights

M&A and fundraising experience. I have advised M&A and private equity transactions for over twenty years and during more than ten years also complex fundraising rounds of the local startup companies. In addition to legal degrees, I obtained an Executive MBA in Mergers and Acquisitions at Vienna University of Technology. I am honored to have earned my clients’ trust, ranking at the top of the Mergermarket CEE legal advisers league table by the number of transactions advised in the region.

Developing the M&A market. Since 1999, I have led the biennial Baltic M&A Deal Points Study, a collaborative effort among leading Baltic M&A law firms. I have also served on the board of the Estonian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association, contributing to the development of model documents for startups and venture capital investment in Estonia. Together with the Sorainen M&A team, venture capital associations, and local business media, we organize the annual Baltic M&A and Private Equity Forum and the Baltic M&A Awards.

Building the firm. I have been Sorainen’s co-managing partner and Estonian country managing partner for 11 years. Additionally, I have helped establish Sorainen’s quality management system and continue to support its development.

Contributing to society. Our core purpose is to increase the prosperity of the region and I am passionate about contributing to the development of the local startup ecosystem. I am a founder and trustee at the Gastronomy Awards Society of Estonia (the Silverspoon gastronomy awards) and a member of the supervisory board of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra (ERSO). I was also the president of the Estonian Rollerskating Federation in 2014-2019.
