The European Bank for Reconstruction & Development (EBRD) has completed its Business Reorganisation Assessment, which was launched in 2020 in response to the economic crisis generated by the Covid-19 pandemic. As a result, the main EBRD Assessment Report was published in January 2022. The report provides a comprehensive cross-jurisdictional analysis of business reorganisation tools and stakeholders’ perceptions of business reorganisation in 38 emerging economies in the EBRD’s regions, while exploring recent insolvency trends and practices in more advanced markets such as France, Germany, England and Wales, and the United States. In addition, separate country reports have been published, including on Latvia and Lithuania.
The aim of the assessment is to contribute to further understanding of the business reorganisation tools available in the EBRD’s regions and help address gaps in insolvency frameworks.
Senior associates Edvīns Draba and Greta Kubiliūnaitė contributed to the assessment.
