Lithuania’s streamlined licensing environment and openness to innovation have transformed the country into a hub for fintech in recent years, with more than 260 payment platforms, blockchain companies and financial software developers now calling the Baltic nation home.
“Previously Lithuania was focused on boosting the number of fintechs coming to the country,” said Eimantas Vytuvis, counsel at the local office of the Sorainen law firm. “There’s definitely been a drastic shift, and I don’t know whether the market can adapt fast enough to this new reality.”
