The fight against racism in sports is broad, active and well-heard. FIFA and UEFA, the leading football organizations, are particularly actively involved in it, both by leading public awareness campaigns and by applying a zero tolerance policy for any activities displaying racism.
The past year in Latvian sports, in connection with the problems of expression of racism, was coloured in darker shades than other years on average. The article reviews the loudest scandals related to racism in Latvian sports in 2023.
