August and September have been busy, but also fun at Sorainen. Our practise groups and business services teams gathered to discuss, engage, and spend quality time together during our Sorainen regional team events.
The REC team was first to open the season of regional meetings and visited Munich this spring. Other workcations were held in Munich, Rome, Vienna, Budapest, and Vilnius. Meeting in person as a regional team fosters innovation, cross-cultural understanding, and team cohesion. Visiting other countries enables our teams to explore new cultures, cuisines, and gain new experiences.
Tax, Marketing & Communications, and Business & Development Teams
Our Tax Team invited the Marketing & Communications and Business & Development Teams to get involved in a strategy session and spend some time exploring Germany at the end of August
Our colleague from the Tax Team shares a summary from the meeting: “The growth possibility for Baltic tax team in business is far beyond 15% (currently 10% of Sorainen combined). During the workshop we highlighted and recognised 8 feasible steps in our approach to (1) identify client needs, (2) meet with stake holders, (3) create a new & improve existing client portfolio, (4) improve the framework of Sorainen tax services, (5) advertise, (6) take into account constructive criticism and turn defects into effects, (7) perform necessary activities before the launch of the product in the market, and (8) launch it.”
Dispute Resolution Team
The Dispute Resolution Team gathered in Budapest at the beginning of September. During the regional event they held seminars that broadened member views and understanding of the modern legal landscape.
The event included guest speakers Zoltán Novák (from global law firm Taylor Wessing) and Dr. Zsolt Okányi (from the CMS law firm), who introduced some of the more relevant disputes currently taking place in Hungary. Some of our own people also held mini workshops on new and emerging technologies that have the potential to improve business efficiency.
Not only did our DR Team members from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Belarus connect while having thought-provoking conversations in seminars. They also got to spend some time together on the local dance floors.
Finance & Insurance Team
The Finance & Insurance Team regional meeting took place in sunny Rome in September. They got to explore the city during the day. In the evenings there was time for bonding, getting to know new colleagues, and catching up with old ones. The time spent with team members for a couple of days in The Eternal City gave them the boost they needed to dive into the fall assignments back home.
Competiton & Regulatory Team
Our Competition & Regulatory Team regional meeting was held in lovely Vienna in September. It was not only a meeting for professional training, but also a meeting to get to know each other better. Every day the team works on common projects, but sometimes they don’t even know what someone looks like in real life. The team explored the city, enjoyed the perfect weather, learned from colleagues, and got to know each other better.
People & Culture Team
The People & Culture Team gathered in Vilnius. They had a few training sessions, while also enjoying a Vilnius city tour, great restaurants, and a boat trip on the lake in Trakai. The team had a nice evening in the sauna and swimming in the lake. Our PC team was blessed with amazing weather and even better company.
