Sorainen has selected nine projects for our pro bono legal and tax advice in the Shared Mission programme. The selected projects will receive free legal and tax advice on various issues, from establishing an entity and employment arrangements to data protection and fundraising.
Annually, we allocate over EUR 100,000 to the Shared Mission and other pro bono initiatives.
Focus on supporting defence and national security projects
This year, we invited innovative projects focusing on defence and national security to participate in the Shared Mission programme.
To maximise the positive impact of our collaboration, we decided to focus our efforts on fewer large-scale projects and selected nine very diverse applicants that included companies and start-ups developing dual-use technologies and IT solutions, manufacturing protective and personal hygiene military equipment, association dealing with the improvement of the business environment for defence sector players; dual-use tech VC fund and accelerator; NGO providing services for the removal of war explosives.
Many excellent projects were applied by 31 May 2024 and our budget for this year’s program has been allocated. We will keep the application form open, however, any further applications will be reviewed and accepted depending on the available budget after assisting existing projects.

About the Shared Mission programme
We launched the Shared Mission programme in 2020 to support a faster recovery of our region from the health and economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. We aimed to contribute by giving free legal and tax advice to projects working towards this goal. After the programme’s successful first season, we decided to make it a part of our sustainability strategy and run it annually. So far, we have supported more than 60 projects across our region.
The Shared Mission programme is a one-of-a-kind initiative in the region, and in 2021, The Financial Times nominated it for the award at the “FT Innovative Lawyers Awards”.
