In the recently released Chambers FinTech rankings, our Fintech team has maintained the top position in Lithuania for the fifth consecutive year. Sorainen has also earned new individual rankings in both Lithuania and Estonia.

Partners Tomas Kontautas and Augustas Klezys, who lead the team, both retained their positions among the leading fintech experts in Lithuania. Moreover, senior associate Liutauras Vasiliauskas has entered the individual rankings as an “associate to watch“.

Market-leading projects
Our fintech team assists with the development of e-money and payment institutions, and helps blockchain and cryptocurrency companies with a range of legal issues. In the last year, the team has been involved in various innovative deals and initiatives, such as
- advising Lendwill on expanding their business to Lithuania and obtaining a peer-to-peer (P2P) lending platform operator licence
- advising Benker on licence passporting matters and regulatory issues, establishment of related companies and transfer of businesses, representing the client with the Bank of Lithuania
- advising Salto X on raising EUR 5.2 million in order to introduce its Incentive Tokens Plans to companies wanting to retain and recruit quality talent
- advising virtual currency service providers, such as Auto Coin Payments, BB Trade Estonia, Finitive Technologies and NjordX Finance, in the licencing process under Estonia’s reformed AML Act
In 2023, Sorainen joined the Crypto Economy Organisation. Sorainen is also a member of the FinTech association INFOBALT, and contributes to various legislative matters and initiatives in order to develop the fintech industry in our region.
