In the recently released Legal 500 rankings, we have strengthened our position in Lithuania in the areas of EU & Competition and Transport & Shipping, and considerably boosted our team’s personal rankings.

Focused on client success

In total, we received 26 Tier 1 rankings in the Baltics with over 56 individual recognitions for our lawyers, including three lawyers who successfully improved their personal rankings and nine who were ranked for the first time.

Strong results in Lithuania

Our Lithuanian Competition & Regulatory (CR) team, further strengthened by the promotion of Monika Mališauskaitė-Vaupšienė, a leading competition law expert in Lithuania, to partner at the start of this year, moved to the highly coveted Tier 1 ranking this year, joining our Estonian and Latvian CR teams as go-to legal advisors in the field.

Our Lithuanian Transport & Logistics team also received a Tier 1 ranking in Lithuania this year, with both our Estonian and Latvian Transport & Logistics teams being already previously recognised as leading forces in the field.

Record growth in personal rankings

A total of 9 colleagues entered the Legal500 individual rankings this year, boosting the total number of individual recognitions for our team to 56. Among the newly recognised specialists, quite a few newly promoted Sorainen partners can be found.

Kätlin Krisak, the leader of our Finance & Insurance team in Estonia, entered the rankings as a Next Generation Partner. Kätlin specialises in capital markets and has also been involved in most of the team’s fintech- and cryptocurrency-related projects. The roster of listings in which Kätlin has been instrumental is impressive. For example, she led our team in advising the book-runners for the Enefit Green IPO – the IPO with the largest number of subscribers in the history of the Baltics.

Monika Mališauskaitė-Vaupšienė who co-heads our Lithuanian Competition & Regulatory team improved her personal ranking, now being recognised as a Next Generation Partner. Monika is a trusted advisor in the field and has participated in numerous landmark antitrust cases and merger deals.

Jorens Jaunozols, promoted to Sorainen partnership this April, also improved his personal ranking and is now recognised as a Next Generation Partner in the field of Real Estate & Construction law in Latvia.  Jorens heads our Real Estate sector group in Latvia, and as of January 2022 co-heads the Latvian Real Estate & Construction group together with partner Lelde Laviņa. Throughout the years, he has been involved in and advised clients on several notable projects advising, for example, on the numerous acquisition and sales transactions by real estate developer Linstow – most recently, the development and lease of the new SEB HQ building in Riga.

Agne Sovaite, Karin Madisson, Triin Ploomipuu, Ieva Andersone, Marika Grunte, Lina Ragainyte-Mezene, Paul Künnap and Viktorija Smirnova-Cerkasa also entered the individual rankings for the first time, earning a much-deserved recognition as market leaders in their fields.
