Baltic States Tax Firm of the Year Award

Yesterday, Sorainen was named the Baltic States Tax Firm of the Year by the International Tax Review (ITR), the leading publication for tax professionals. It is the eleventh time our Tax team has received this recognition since ITR established the Baltic category in its European awards in 2010.

The award honours the most innovative and impactful tax and transfer pricing work, reflecting our ability to support our clients in complex projects in the Baltic market.

Indrė Ščeponienė, co-head of our regional Tax team, said: “The tax landscape is becoming more complex, with new rules and greater pressure from authorities. Building trust with our clients is more important than ever. Businesses are stepping up, finding creative solutions, and aren’t afraid to take matters to court when neededand we’re right there with them. This award reflects the strong partnerships we’ve built and the progress we’re making together.”

Some of the projects our team has worked on in the Baltic market include:

  • assisting the Nordcurrent Group UAB, an international publisher and developer of casual games, during a tax audit performed by the State Tax Inspectorate
  • acting as a local counsel in Estonia through international law firm Dentons, advising Deutsche Bank in connection with a syndicated loan agreement totaling EUR 600 million to Eesti Energia
